Tony Finau is the first Tongan and Samoan athlete to play on the PGA Tour. He went pro at 17 and has been a consistent performer since. One of the primary reasons behind his continued success is his wife of over ten years, Alayna Galea’i-Finau. They are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Due to the hectic schedule that PGA Tour players have, Finau often has to spend time away from his family. “I think the biggest challenge when I’m on the road is being away from my family,” the golfer told Deseret News in 2017. In the same interview, he praised his wife for looking after the family in his absence.

The couple share five children together, with his youngest daughter being born in 2021. The six of them will often be seen by Finau’s side during his tournament appearances. In fact, they were present during the golfer’s 2018 Masters appearance, when he, unfortunately, dislocated his ankle while celebrating a hole-in-one during the par-3 tournament. Since then, however, he has gone on to achieve much success, winning 4 PGA events since 2021.

Celebrating his 8th wedding anniversary in May of 2020, the Cadence Bank Houston Open winner thanked his wife for being his “number 1 support.” In 2022, the beautiful couple ushered in their 10th anniversary by getting matching gold initial necklaces. Tony and Alayna also have a penchant for philanthropy, paving the way for the Tony Finau Foundation. Through various initiatives, the organization has helped underprivileged kids and families affected during the pandemic.

Neither of the two lovebirds has shared much about how they met, but their wholesome photos together always bring a smile to people’s faces. In the past, the world no. 16 golfer has talked about wanting a big family. Finau comes from a big family himself, which is extremely common amongst Polynesians.

Finau and wife Alayna have 5 children together

The Tongan-Samoan athlete has grown up surrounded by five brothers and three sisters. The golfer also shares a close relationship with his father, who transformed their garage into a driving range to support his son’s golfing dreams. Just like her husband, Alayna also has three sisters and a brother. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the couple has five children together – Jraice, Leilene “Neenee” Aiaga, Tony, Sage, and Sienna-Vee.

It is evident from his social media activity and interactions with his wife and children that Tony Finau is a family man. In 2011, the golfer lost his mother to a tragic car accident, and he often honors her on Instagram. He also appeared in an episode of the Netflix documentary Full Swing, where fans got an insight into his personal life. In the episode titled “Don’t Get Bitter, Get Better,” the young couple can be seen helping each other through the losses of his mother and her father.
