Siblings becoming professionals in the same sport is certainly an uncommon occurrence. Beating those odds, Min Woo Lee and his sister Minjee Lee both grew up to become professional golfers. Both in their prime, have also been flourishing on their respective Tours. And whilst one would think that this would lead to sibling rivalry where one is better than the other, the case seems to be opposite in the case of the Lees. In fact, just recently, the PGA Tour star sang high praises of his sister, paying her huge respect.

Min Woo Lee showers his sister with honors

The two-time European Tour winner took to the field of the RBC Heritage on Thursday this week. There, the golf pro was asked who his biggest inspiration was in the sport. And while many pros may have named legends like Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson, Lee’s answer was both surprising and heartwarming.

The Australian youngster named his sister, Minjee Lee, as one of his “biggest inspirations.” “Yeah, inspiration will probably be my sister,” he said in the interview, as per RBC Heritage’s post on Instagram. “She’s pretty good at golf, and she’s a good role model on and off the course.”

It’s quite clear that the 24-year-old looks up to his sister and also draws his motivation from her. And why wouldn’t he? In less than a decade since turning pro, Minjee has won two major championships and six other times on the LPGA Tour. “Minjee is doing pretty good,” said the PGA Tour pro. “So, I try following her footsteps.”

After the PGA Tour star bestowed that huge honor on his elder sibling, Minjee of course saw the video, and she was certainly more than touched. The LPGA star couldn’t find the words to thank her little brother. All she could do was blush and shy away from the praise. Sharing it on her Instagram story, she showed her appreciation for his words with the “🤭” emoji.

Undoubtedly, the two Australian golf siblings share a special bond. Despite the nature of their professional jobs requiring fierce competitiveness, they don’t seem to bring that aspect home for each other.
