The newest and most innovative tournament on the LGPA Tour has begun this week. Named after its title sponsor, the Mizuho Americas Open was inaugurated on 31st May. The tournament has been driven by a vision of being a “distinctive and premium event that celebrates women and advances the next generation”. It is being played at the Liberty National Golf Club, New Jersey which offers scenic views of the Statue of Liberty and the dreamy skyline of Manhattan.

The game has a new and productive format. 120 LPGA players are competing alongside 24 top-ranked junior girls on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tour. The theme of interaction between female golf stars and juniors, who will not only get to play with their seniors but also learn from them, is really commendable.
