‘Money Doesn’t Equate Happiness’: Paige Spiranac Firmly Disregards LIV Golf Series

LIV Golf, the rival league of the PGA Tour, has been signing the Tour players by offering them deals worth millions. Prominent players like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and many more have already signed with the Saudi-backed league. However, Paige Spiranac claims she will never fall for their offers and has a firm reason for that. 

“No, I wouldn’t do it,” Spiranac quickly responded when the Bunkered podcast host asked her how much it would take her to join the league.

Spiranac explained that nobody would believe her when she says she won’t take the multi-million offer from LIV Golf, but it is the truth. “Because morally, it just doesn’t align with what I’m doing,” the former professional golfer added. 

Paige Spiranac prefers happiness over money! 

According to Spiranac, she doesn’t consider money the prime reason for someone to choose an option in life. “I think you have to do things for a bigger reason,” she added. “You have to be passionate about you have to, like what you do.”

The Cactus Tour champion understands why a professional golfer can be attracted to the money that the LIV Golf offers. “But are you going to be happy in five years?” she wondered. “Like, money doesn’t equate happiness.”

Spiranac also included that even if she wouldn’t have been financially stable now, she would have still declined the offer from LIV Golf. “That’s never really been my driving force,” she further added.

 Paige ‘Renee’ Spiranac is the most popular golfer on Instagram, with 3.4 million followers. Notably, Tiger Woods, the 15-time major winner, has only 2.9 million followers on Instagram. Brands like Points Bet and Dynamic Brands have endorsement deals with the 29-year-old due to her popularity. 

How much does the LIV Golf offer its players?

The total purse of the LIV Golf Invitational Series is $225 million. Moreover, the PIF Governor, sponsor of the league, has offered an extra $54 million for the players who score 54 in a round.

On top of all these, the company has signed its players by giving them millions as an appearance fee. Reportedly, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau are some players who have received more than $100 million to sign contracts with LIV Golf.

Despite being millionaires, some PGA Tour players have opted to play at the Saudi-backed league. Meanwhile, Spiranac prefers happiness over money and claims she will never accept the offer from them if ever placed.
