The former number one is executing broomstick putter as a staple golf shot

Adam Scott is currently contesting the $7.6 million event, the 2023 Wyndham Championship. He started his putting game quite well this Thursday and has successfully made it through the cut. And while the broomstick putter has created controversy for Langer, it has been a boon in disguise for this PGA professional.

A golf enthusiast recently shared a video on Twitter, and in that video, Adam Scott is taking a broomstick shot, but his anchor is perfect. He even shared the post with the caption,As much as I dislike broom handle putters at least Adam Scott abides by the anchoring rule”.

This explains the fact that this golf devotee doesn’t prefer broom handle putters, but since Scott follows the principles of this shot to the core, he quite encourages his diligence.

While Langer is held as the greatest German to step foot on the golf course and carries a substantial record to flaunt his dominance in this staple sport, his career has received mixed reviews. Instead of having plenty of tour wins, he had to endure cheating allegations. His -17 at the Tiburon Golf Course brought him his 45th win on the Senior Tour.

With this win, he became the golfer with the most wins on the PGA Tour Champions alongside Hale Irwin. Besides acknowledging the Athlete for this outstanding feat of achievement, many criticized him for his putting style.

One such account posted a picture of the two-time Masters winner anchoring his left arm for his putt in the Chubb Classic. And this person made a huge deal out of it, by tagging all the famous journalists to make himself heard. In that post, he said, “The cheating by Bernhard Langer is laughable at this point”. He added, “Rules officials on the Champions Tour need to do their job

The golf pro has been using long putters for years to avoid yips. However, according to rule 14-1b, a player is not allowed to anchor a club ‘directly’ or by use of an ‘anchor point’. While long putters are not the problem, anchoring a shot is because it has been banned by the USGA and R&A.
