The golf world has sat back in silence, awaiting the day the legend returned. Tiger Woods had an accident in 2021 and suffered multiple injuries. He has since been unable to play in the main competitive events. Recently, Tiger announced he would finally be back and play the Hero World Challenge at the end of this month, and the entire golfing community erupted with joy.

Many speculated he’d ride the cart on the course, but in a recent tweet, the legend seems strongly opposed to the idea and says this isn’t some fantasy game.
Tiger Woods claims he’ll never ride the cart for an official game
Tiger once, in an interview after his accident, was asked if he would ride the cart to play in a tournament. He was strongly opposed to the idea and said, “No. Absolutely not.” The 15-time major said he could never do that in an official PGA Tour event. He stated, “Not for a PGA Tour event, no. That’s just not who I am,”

He went on and said, “If I can’t play at that level, I can’t play at that level.” Tiger believes that being able to walk the course shows that you have what it takes. Tiger’s views on that still haven’t changed, and he recently said, “Can’t take a cart. This isn’t fantasy golf.”
Just confirmed that Tiger will *not* be taking a cart at Hero. From someone in his inner circle:

The golf world was thrilled with Tiger’s return and even more impressed with his resolve. His fans also understand him well, and agreed with the legend saying never expected him to ride the cart.
That's great to hear. As much as I love seeing Tiger, if he has to take a cart I would rather see him retire. I think that is his mindframe too.

Other fans were also concerned about his health and fitness, and didn’t care much for the cart.
Hopefully he's healthy enough to walk this time and we don't see what we saw at the majors;
a decent first 2 rounds followed by a bad 3rd round & then WD— Game On Sports (@_Game_On_Sports) November 18, 2022
I mean good on him but I can't imagine anyone would care even a little bit if he took a cart.
People want to see tiger. The less he walks the better chance we get to watch him play.
It's not age related. It's He almost lost his leg related. It's okay.

Regardless of their views, all the fans are incredibly pleased to have Tiger return.
