And there was a time when Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, had to get divorced amidst a controversy. It certainly was a hard time for both Woods and Nordegren. However, there was one more person who felt guilty to be a part of what the two were going through.

Woods and Nordegren were married in October 2004. However, they soon got divorced in 2010 after a huge controversy about the golfer erupted. The golf legend had to face the wrath of millions of fans during the time, resulting in a huge impact on his career. But there was one man whose statements were no less than a flying arrow toward Woods’ chest.

Swedish professional golfer, Jesper Parnevik, once spoke about how he and his wife were responsible for introducing Nordegren to Woods. But his statements came in after the controversy and in support of Woods’ ex-wife. Parnevik is a part of the PGA Tour and talked about the matter during an interview with Golf Channel.

“I really feel sorry for Elin,” Parnevik said. “I would be especially sad about it since I’m kind of — I really feel sorry for Elin — since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him,” According to him, Nordegren used to work for him and his wife as a nanny in 2000. And in 2001, the two introduced her to Tiger Woods during the British Open, after which they got married.

During his statements, Parvenik left no chance to make Woods’ fans look down on him. The Swedish golfer was asked if he had been in contact with Woods after his unfortunate accident. But he denied any contact and said, “It’s a private thing of course…But when you are the guy he is, the world’s best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff … And maybe not just do it, like Nike says.”

His statements also made it to the headlines after he took responsibility for introducing Nordegren to the world’s greatest golfer, Tiger Woods. And a few fans also laughed at his comments and spoke against Woods and his actions. However, the golf great has moved on in life and is trying his best to get back to the field in his best form.
