When LA Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball in 2017, his father, LaVar Ball, was the most excited person on earth. However, the business tycoon faced a lot of issues after he pointed out that his son was not getting good coaching from the team. His comments even made the golf legend Tiger Woods, known for being a Lakers fan, speak his mind.
“I think my dad would have a few different words than I’m going to right here at this press conference.” Woods‘ comment on what his father would have said about the Lakers and Lonzo Ball’s situation made the press team laugh during the 2018 Genesis Open press meet.
“They don’t know how to coach my son,” Lavar Ball told Bleacher Report. “I know how to coach him,” he added. “I tell him to go get the victory. Stop messing around.”

Earl Woods, the 15-time major champion’s father, is known for being fearless in expressing his opinions. As a die-hard fan of the Lakers, Woods knew his father wouldn’t have liked the father of the rookie player’s comments, and thus he simply answered the question during the 2018 Genesis Open professionally.
“I just think that the Lakers will sit very perfectly for a lobbyist for the next couple of years, and what they do with their salary cap,” he told the press. He explained that the Lakers would be “fine” as their cap is good.
Even though Lonzo Ball played well for the team, the Lakers traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans. Notably, his father had made headlines then for calling out the team for making the biggest mistake. He even predicted that the team would never win another game because of it.
Tiger Woods likes no other team but Lakers in NBA
Woods has always been a Lakers fan. In an interview with Golf Digest, he confidently said that he believes only three teams exist in the world of sports; Lakers, Dodgers, and Raiders. Although Woods has favorite players in other teams, he only likes these three teams.

As a matter of fact, the 82-time PGA Tour winner revealed in the 2018 Genesis Open press meet that he watches Lakers games no matter what. “I stay up late at night,” the “die-hard fan” of the LA Lakers said how much trouble he goes through to watch his favorite team play. “I have always been a huge fan of Lakers, and I always will be,” he added.
