Steph Curry reveals his clever plan to tune out Charles Barkley during The Match

On Wednesday, Steph Curry appeared on Smylie Kaufman’s podcast for SiriusXM to shed light on his golfing experiences. One of the highlights from the podcast, however, was his plan to deal with NBA Hall of Famer Charles “Chuck” Barkley. Time and again, the two have butted heads, with the TNT analyst often criticizing Curry’s team, the Golden State Warriors.

With Barkley serving as a broadcaster for Match VIII, the ribbing and taunting will no doubt be at an all-time high. So, how does Curry plan on muting the 60-year-old? “I was doing a practice round, and we had the earpieces in and all that. So I got really good with the pull out, put back in earpiece,” he told Kaufman.

As soon as I hear that ‘heyyy uhhh,’ when I hear that… that’s when I know,” said Curry, hilariously imitating his rival. Both of them have previously competed against each other at “The Match: Champions for Change,” which was held in 2020. In that event, the pair of Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley beat Peyton Manning and Steph Curry.

In 2017, the golf community was in for a huge surprise when a photo featuring Obama, Spieth, Curry, and Under Armour founder Kevin Plank posing together at a golf course came to light. The 4-time major winner’s question allegedly came in the middle of a round. “When you get time with the 44th president of the United States, I would be ashamed if you didn’t ask that question,” expressed the basketball legend while talking about Spieth’s starry-eyed query.

The NBA star also got candid about his dream PGA Tour Starting Five. So, who did Curry pick? “I’m going, Seth Curry. Pat Connaughton at the two. [Then I’m taking] Kyle Lowry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala,” he told Kaufman.
