Seven-time LPGA Champion Nelly Korda shared her experience of how she felt after she got a blood clot. In a recent media interaction, a media person asked Korda to describe the anxiety she experienced when she found out that she had a blood clot. The interviewer also asked her to describe how her next few days were and to shed more light on the details.

Nelly Korda details her experience as ‘funny’

When asked, the 23-year-old described her feeling as “funny” and that her arm was not in its best form. “I was just feeling funny. My arm wasn’t feeling too great, but you know I listened to my body,” she said.

The Olympic Gold Medalist also mentioned the doctor she visited on getting her reports and praised his work, appreciating how important of a role he played in getting her back in good health.

“I went to the ER, got some ultrasounds, found out that I had a blood clot, went back home and saw a specialist,” Nelly Korda spoke to the interviewer. She added, “Dr. Michael Lapore, he was great. Can’t think of a better person to do the procedure and, you know, I’ve been good ever since.”

Later, a person from the media asks her if she could share the exact date of her procedure, and when she started playing golf again. Korda could not recollect the exact date of her procedure. However, she said that she remembered feeling funny one morning before flying out to the west coast.

She also shared her rehab experience with the media. Adding to the answer to the same question, Korda said, “I did a lot of rehab. I went to California for a month, did rehab there.” Korda also added, “Worked with my coach Jamie Mulligan. Wanted him to be there for when I first started hitting balls.”

When did Nelly Korda decide to come back?

Nelly Korda mentioned how she started slowly after her recovery until her doctor gave the clearance to get back on the field.

“I think it was around the time of probably the second LA event that I started hitting balls. I started obviously gradually, really slow, I probably went like 60%. Then once I got the clearance from my doctor, I was good to go!”

The American professional was a participant in the 2019 and 2021 versions of the Solheim Cup. Moreover, the former World No.1 also won a gold medal in the women’s individual golf event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
