Even the world’s best golfer isn’t immune to catching a cold. World No. 2 Nelly Korda, whose year was marred by injuries and fatigue here and there, has now taken up to bed again. This time, it’s due to a nasty cold. Clearly vexed by it, Korda took to her Instagram, asking her 1.2 million followers for help. And as expected, her fans delivered. Feeling under the weather but maintaining her sense of humor, Korda decided to crowdsource her cure.

Posting a black and white selfie of her lying down, Korda asked, “Favorite at-home remedies for a cold/flu? Send me all the things, please🙏” As one swipes through, her second story pops up, which has yet another question, “How beneficial are Epsom salt baths when you’re sick?” An hour later, the American ends her slideshow, typing, “I think I’ve caught up on everyone’s life today with all my Instagram refreshes. Thank you for all the remedies 🫶.🤞 I wake up feeling better.” While this exchange seemed lighthearted, it also hinted at just how worn down Korda’s year has been.
We do hope so, as for Korda, this has been a trying season. A month ago, she had openly admitted at the LOTTE Championship that her body was “definitely worn down.” She had been on the course for months, trying to take back her number one position on the leaderboard, with a win that had remained elusive throughout this season. That relentless grind came at a cost.

Her lingering neck problem certainly didn’t help. It has been bothering her since late 2024, and flared up at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in June. As foreshadowing as it sounds, the same issue forced her to withdraw from the International Crown just a few weeks ago.
So, when Korda gets up to bed again, due to another health reason, that can come off as concerning. But that is just her, being active on her digital diary. Fans are used to her sharing jaw-dropping shoots, BTS of her training, and her travel stories. Just a day or two ago, she was at Sea Island, Georgia, giving her body and mind some breathing room.

“Sea Island is a beaut,” she wrote.
So, if she’s asking genuine questions about an Epsom salt bath, then it’s nothing to worry about. It’s just another way of her connecting with her fans. Very few LPGA players are as liked as Korda, and she, too, for her part reciprocates the same. She has often stayed on course well after her round to sign autographs and pose for quick snaps. As Lilia Vu once said:
“She’s kind of our Caitlin Clark out here.”

Speaking of Caitlin Clark, there have been times when Korda has left the former feeling quite jealous. Anyway, a proper rest will do her well. And Korda, if you are reading – Yes, Epsom salt baths can provide some relief with sinus and congestion, especially if it’s a warm water bath.
We hope it helps, because big things are lined up on her way.

Nelly Korda eyes history at The ANNIKA
Once Nelly Korda completes her rest, she will be making her long-awaited return at The ANNIKA at Pelican. The event will tee off from November 13-16 in Florida, and is going to provide the American player a chance to make history. Nelly Korda could become the first player since Annika Sorenstam in 2005 to win the same LPGA event four times.
She has already won the event in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Her last season was phenomenal, as she racked up seven wins, including a major at the Chevron. Yet, this year, that streak has been broken. So ANNIKA can provide her with an avenue to redeem herself.
The event will have a $3.25 million purse, which is one of the largest prize pools on the LPGA Tour. Moreover, after ANNIKA, the Tour will head to the CME Championship finale, and a solid performance there is also expected from the former world No. 1. For Korda, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
While Korda headlines the field, she’ll share the stage with several big names. Charley Hull, Lilia Vu, Lexi Thompson, and Brooke Henderson are among the notable names who will be present on the course. However, perhaps Kai Trump‘s LPGA debut at this event will be the most headline-grabbing aspect of the field. Notably, current world No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul will skip this event, and that might open an opportunity for Korda to shine.
