Masters might be over, but the tradition of the Champions Dinner isn’t. On the LPGA front, the Chevron Championship begins with a gourmet party for the past champions. Nelly Korda, the defending champion of the LPGA’s first major, had a pretty simple task. Help make the menu. Surprisingly, her choice has a connecting thread with her male counterpart, Scottie Scheffler. 

No, she is not offering Texan food. Far from it – she is going full continental. But Korda, like Scheffler, is staying true to her roots. The only difference is in the style. While Scheffler went for a very modest Texas menu, Korda is doubling down on exotic dishes from Central Europe.

The dinner will start with caviar and then a cream of mushroom soup, new crop onions, and garden peas. “I love mushroom soup, that’s one of my favorite things for the starter,” Korda was quoted as saying by Golf Digest. Next, herb-roasted fillet of Snake River Farms, American Wagyu Beef, and Sauce ‘Goulash’ are on the cards. 

“No one can go wrong with a good old wagyu steak,” Korda said. It will be served with Greek ‘Deli’ Salad, asparagus, garnet yam gratin, and mushrooms. But Korda’s personal touch is in the dessert. Spring Berry Dumplings. Toasted poppy seeds wrapped up in Tahitian vanilla anglaise.

Korda said, “My personal touch was the dessert. That’s something that, as a kid, was my favorite meal. They’re fruit-filled dumplings. It’s kind of bringing in my Czech roots as well.” Dumplings are a traditional Czech specialty. Reportedly, the first written recipe for fruit dumplings—dating to the 17th century—was found in a central European country.

Korda is of Czech origin – her father, Petr, and mother, Regina Rajchrtová, are from the Czech Republic. The two-time major champion often posts snippets from her vacation there as well. Chef Thomas A. Keller worked with Korda in designing the menu. Keller’s ties with golf run deep – he was a regular at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Keller also hosted annual golf tournaments. 

Nelly Korda said she had full faith in Keller’s choice. The menu does look mouth-watering, and surely no fans will complain of an average menu at a grand occasion. Like they did for Scottie Scheffler.

Scottie Scheffler swatted aside all outside noise at the Masters

Scottie Scheffler’s 2025 Masters dinner menu was a spitting image (almost) of what he served two years back. Foods that you can buy in about every fast-food chain and restaurant in America. Which didn’t sit well with traditional fans who believed the Champions dinner does call for some extravagance. 

Not that the World No.1 male golfer cares too much about it. In the press conference last week. Scheffler explained his decision. It’s from Texas, and it’s his favorite food. He doesn’t want anything else on the cards. Fans didn’t understand the choice, actually calling out his ‘lack of choice’.

Nevertheless, Korda will skip those side eyes, it seems. Her menu is anything but your average breakfast or lunch. The World No.1 female golfer is currently teeing off at the JM Eagle LA Championship. She opened the day with a 3-under, tying for 15th after the first round.
