Laura Davies’s praise for Europe’s star performer

Laura Davies believes Charley Hull is due for a major breakthrough after her impressive Solheim Cup performance, saying, “I can’t believe she’s not already [a major champion], as she’s so talented.” Davies praised Hull’s display by mentioning her contribution to the team. “She has been superb this week. She turned up, she has been great fun and has been keeping us all entertained, but then she produced on the course as well – you can’t ask for more as a team-mate than that”, said Davies.

Davies also commends Hull’s strategy against Korda, saying that the team was aware that Korda would be competing as the number one seed and had no hesitation in sending Hull out first. While Korda’s status as world No 1 made her intimidating to some, the team believed Charley had the potential to apply pressure on Korda, which she was keen to avoid. Finally, Davies highlights Hull’s impressive shot-making, saying, “Her shot-making was superb and the way she finished off her match at the 14th was just magnificent.”
