The golf legend disclosed his thoughts on DeChambeau as the young golfer headed towards winning the 2020 Masters after conquering the US Open title. The golf world, including Woods, was impressed with his long drives and winning a major with a 6-shot lead after bulking up.

Woods explained that the golfers in his time struggled more as the technology wasn’t as advanced as it is now. “I happened to have speed,” he explained how he averaged 323 yards during the 1997 Masters without the help of technology. “And I happened to hit the ball in the middle of the face.”

However, even the clubs are optimizable now. And as a science lover, DeChambeau has taken advantage of every technology available to improve his game. “Bryson has put in the time,” the 15-time major champion added. “He’s put in the work.”

Notably, while many had criticized DeChambeau for building muscles in a short time, Woods had thought differently. “What he’s done in the gym has been incredible,” he stated. “It’s never been done before.”
