Tiger Woods was already under the spotlight after his DUI arrest on March 27, 2026. However, newly released police bodycam footage has only intensified scrutiny. The footage is shared in a couple of YouTube videos uploaded by WPBF 25 News. It offers a raw, unfiltered look at what unfolded right at the time of his arrest. The Big Cat was kneeling on one leg when being questioned.

In one of the videos, the officer checked for any medical assessment needs. However, Woods appeared fine. In another video, the veteran golfer appeared to be shocked when the law enforcers said that they were arresting him for DUI. The lady officer who was interacting with the veteran golfer was asking him to follow some instructions. After the test, she asked him to put his hands behind his back and handcuffed him.
“At this time, I do believe your normal faculties are impaired, and you’re under the unknown substance,” the lady officer, who was handcuffing Tiger Woods, said.
Another officer then came to check what Tiger Woods had on him. He first asked for anything that could poke, stick, or press. When the 50-year-old said no, the law enforcement officer began to search his pockets. He took out some medications and cash. Two pills were found in one of his pockets, which he said were narcos.
“That’s a narco,” the American professional said when the officer took the pills out of his pocket.
The officer then put the pills in an evidence bag and reported the time before asking the 15x major winner if he had anything else.
According to reports, Tiger Woods admitted to taking some prescription drugs the morning of the accident. However, he refused a urine test, raising suspicions.
After the interaction, the veteran golfer was taken to Martin County Jail at around 3 pm. He was kept there for 8 hours, according to Florida’s DUI statutes, before getting bail at around 11:15 pm.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said that Woods will go through the legal process for DUI. And Woods has taken action accordingly, too.
Tiger Woods’ actions after DUI arrest
Woods pleaded not guilty in court. For the legal proceedings, he retained attorney Douglas Duncan from the 2017 case. The judge approved his request to seek treatment outside of the US for privacy reasons.
After this, Tiger Woods also stated on March 31, 2026.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” the 50-year-old said in the statement. “I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”
However, this didn’t sit well with many people, including some golf commentators and analysts. Stephen A. Smith said that no one would care about the 82x PGA Tour winner’s privacy because they want assurance that this won’t happen again. He was referring to his past DUI incident from 2017 and his accident in 2021.
His co-commentator, Chris Russo, also questioned Tiger Woods. In fact, he even said that his friends, including Justin Thomas, his agent, and others who are closely associated with him, should also be held responsible.
Retired PGA Tour pro Mark Lye also asked the PGA Tour to take the necessary action against Woods. He referred to the PGA Tour’s policy’s moral clause, further asking the organization to remove Woods from hosting the Genesis Invitational and the Hero World Challenge.
