In a world where there is a consecutive battle of becoming the best Golf Tour ever, Tiger Woods has announced the launch of his Golf League. The golfer made the massive announcement alongside his good friend and fellow PGA Tour star, Rory McIlroy. Fans on Twitter believe the 15-time Major champion pulled off a masterstroke with his forthcoming league.

The initial rumors of a new Tour within the PGA Tour began when Tiger Woods along with 20 other players held a meeting in Wilmington. Being in the Tour for 26 years, Woods was the main man who influenced most of the decisions.

However, just a few days following the meeting, the rumors have manifested into reality. The TGL is set to start in January 2024. TMRW sports, the tech-focused company launched by Woods and McIlroy will help partner in the development of the league.

LIV Golf has offered nearly all of the PGA Tour stars an offer to join the league. It is quite apparent that they must have offered the 15-time Major Champion a hefty contract. However, Tiger Woods decided to reject the lucrative series’ contract which was reportedly worth around $700-800 million, to remain loyal to the PGA Tour!

Moreover, Woods has finessed everyone by announcing the launch of TGL with the partnership of the PGA Tour. The league will consist of six teams of three PGA Tour players, which also includes Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The league will be played in 15 regular seasons with semi-finals and finals in contention. Moreover, TGL will have a custom-built venue for each of its events.

We must have seen it coming, as Woods is the only golfer to have a Billionaire stature. Along with his legacy on the golf course, Tiger Woods has also earned an immense amount of money from businesses outside of the sport. Moreover, Tiger’s long-standing relationship with Nike has also impacted the growth in his income as well as his brand name.
