His talents do not simply limit themselves to golf. The pro-golfer questionably has an impeccable eye when it comes to betting. His latest decision made him hundreds of thousands of dollars. But what made him bet such a hefty amount in the first place?

Phil Mickelson made a bet which might deem him an expert

The sports fanatic is renowned for making huge bets on teams he hopes they’ll win. He won a hefty amount of $440,000 from a bet he placed on the $20,000 futures wager at 22-1 on the Baltimore Ravens winning Super Bowl XXXV.

This move probably made people think of Mickelson as an expert in the gambling field. So as expected, ever since, people await for what will be his next move in the upcoming events.

But what made him choose ravens in his first super bet? Mickelson was asked about the reason he made the huge bet on the Ravens. He said, “A Super Bowl champion. The best defense in the history of the game, and a running offense that runs the clock out and doesn’t turn the ball over.” He added, “I also pick the NCAA Tournament . . . which was Duke, by the way.”

As is widely known, Phil Mickelson is renowned for making predictions during the NFL season. The pro-golfer made an interesting decision when he bet $20,000 on the Ravens in the 2000s.

This move helped Mickelson lay a foundation for his gambling career. He then flew a few of his friends and family to Las Vegas to cash his huge winnings of a whopping $440,000.

When asked about the experience, Mickelson said, “We’re definitely going to do it again.”
