If it wasn’t obvious enough, former NFL star J.J. Watt loves to play golf. The 33-year-old treasures his time on the course and even shares snippets from his games. Having retired from professional football at the end of last year, Watt has found time to pursue his interest in golf. It has certainly borne fruit, as the Wisconsin-born showed off his latest achievement on social media.

J.J. Watt shares a hole-in-one update

The 33-year-old has spoken about his love for golf before, but with time on his hands now, the former NFL star seems destined to make it big in the sport. He recently shared a brief clip recording himself, where he shared a proud achievement on the golf course.

In the video, Watt, while playing golf with his parents, asks whether a hole-in-one counts on a par-3 hole. “Does a hole-in-one count at a par-3 course? Because I just got my first-ever hole-in-one,” he proudly claimed.

The 33-year-old also revealed that his achievement was more glamorous due to his shot, which was “over the water.” Watt then proceeded to show his ball inside the cup, before letting out a sigh of amazement. The video also captured his parents’ reaction standing behind him, with Watt’s father keeping tabs on recording the achievement.

J.J. Watt’s connection to golf and Phil Mickelson

The former Houston Texans player has shown a keen interest in golf, which has often pitted him alongside other players in the circuit. But did you know Watt had a few words exchanged with none other than Phil Mickelson in the run-up to the last edition of the Ryder Cup!

The incident occurred when Watt decided to take some time off and play golf on his hometown’s best course in Whistling Straits. Taking to social media, he shared a few photos from his session and gushed about the beauty of the course. Additionally, he also tagged Mickelson with an offer to share his notes on how to play on the course.

In reply, Mickelson kept it simple and humbly requested Watt to stay in his lane. Team USA eventually secured victory in the Ryder Cup, recording a 19–9 win.
