The return of Tom Brady to professional football hasn’t been pleasant. It only got worse when he announced his divorce from his wife of 13 years, Gisele Bundchen yesterday. We take a look back at when golf’s social media sensation, Paige Spiranac, fired shots at LIV Chief, Greg Norman, using Brady’s short retirement from NFL.

Last year, Brady announced his retirement from professional football following the defeat against Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Playoffs. After the announcement, tributes poured in for the 7 time Super Bowl winner. Nonetheless, Brady announced his return to football just 40 days later.

The news caught everybody’s attention including Paige Spiranac, who mocked the short retirement of Brady, with a reference to Greg Norman. Let’s take a look at what the social media star had to say.

Paige Spiranac takes a jibe at Tom Brady using a Greg Norman reference

Spiranac is known for sharing her unfiltered thoughts. The social media star has millions of followers across social media. She has been open about her thoughts on the former Patriots star Tom Brady. Last year, she took an unnecessary jibe at the NFL star.

Paige Spiranac tweeted, “The only thing shorter than Tom Brady’s retirement was Greg Norman’s lead in the 96 Masters”. The Former pro golfer was referring to the 1996 Masters, when Norman famously blew a 6-point lead.

Norman was leading on the final day at Augusta National with a massive lead. However, then came the Englishman, Sir Nick Faldo, who scored a remarkable 67 in the final round, declining Norman of his maiden Green Jacket. The Major has been regarded as historical since even golf’s biggest social media entity remembers it decades later.

However, to consider only Norman’s lead at Masters shorter than Brady’s 40-day retirement is an exaggeration. Spiranac is known to be quite comical on social media and was only teasing the NFL star.

Now, Norman is the CEO of LIV Golf, while Brady had a poor start to the 2022/23 season, with a recent defeat against the Baltimore Ravens. Paige Spiranac hasn’t shared any of her current thoughts on Brady’s poor performance. Nonetheless, it’s only about time before she shares her unfiltered thoughts.
