Michelle Wie West couldn’t hold her breath. After all, Taylor Swift was wearing a bracelet she had designed! Undoubtedly, it seems too fantastic to be real. Surely, that’s not what she expected when she wanted to gift her that. It’s been three months since then, and the former LPGA Pro still blushes while recounting that moment.

West was speaking at the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The 34-year-old has partnered with Wove after her retirement, designing jewelry that ranges from bracelets and huggies to necklaces. West messaged Travis Kelce after their initial meeting with a proposal. “We made a bracelet inspired by Taylor. We [would] love to just give her one. I don’t care… I don’t know… I don’t care what she does of it.”

All she wanted was the bracelet to be “in the proximity of her [Swift].” The next thing she knew, Swift was hugging Kelce and rocking the tennis friendship bracelet. Now, she is not the most enthusiastic NFL fan. The Chiefs thumbed Baltimore in a 17-14 thriller. The Chiefs tight end had 11 catches for 116 yards, leading the team to the Super Bowl.

But none of that was the reason why Michelle Wie West was screaming at her phone. Three months later, she recounts the moment. “I was like, ‘OH MY GOD.’ My husband was like, ‘Oh my God, what’s wrong?’ I was like, ‘Taylor Swift is wearing my bracelet.’ It was just like the craziest thing.”

“OMG, THE MOMENT WHEN YOU REALIZE @TAYLORSWIFT IS WEARING YOUR BRACELET,” West posted at that time on her Instagram story. West also added, explaining the design a bit: “The design inspiration behind this line was to create an upscale version of friendship bracelets. And the fact that the [queen] of friendship bracelets is wearing it is mind-blowing.”

Swift’s wristlet, a tennis friendship bracelet, comes in a price range of $5,680. It’s a customizable one, and the Grammy winner did pick her favorite lettering etched on the jewelry. Many were able to spot the special lettering there. ‘TNT’. West revealed her hypothesis on what that might mean.

TNT can mean a lot of things when you’re talking about one of the world’s most dynamic duos. Fallon wondered if TNT stands for ‘dynamite.’ “Maybe, Travis, and (N) Taylor…” West left those words to linger for a few seconds. It does sink in. “I can’t believe it,” West concluded, recounting her experience of that night.

The Taylor Swift moment, though, is perhaps the second-best thing to happen to her in recent years. Interestingly, the 34-year-old also revealed that they are expecting a second child soon. A boy this time. Michelle Wie West has a three-year-old daughter, Makenna, who plays a little bit of golf, practicing with her friends.
