Golf Digest recently posted a video of three non-Japanese golfers trying to learn the native language of the country from Hideki Matsuyama. The 2021 Masters champion enters the class and finds Tiger Woods sitting with Rory McIlroy and Jason Day. All four golfers made fun of each other during the lessons. While Matsuyama kept teaching them the opposite of what they asked him to translate. Matsuyama also taught them about Japanese culture and showed the golfers embarrassing clips from their past tournaments. He even mocked Woods saying, “In Japan, we respect our elders and the older generations. So no making fun of Tiger and his glutes”. However, the video ended with all three students speaking fluent Japanese. And towards the end when Woods asks “Rory” in Japanese if he’s ready to lose, poor McIlroy says, “Yeah, sure!”
