Cameron Smith’s opinion on playing with untucked shirts

After an outstanding round of golf on Saturday, Smith was pressed about the day’s play and various other questions. One of them was in relation to players untucking their shirts while playing on the course, something which Smith wasn’t comfortable with. The question went like this.

Reporter – I noticed some guys are starting to untuck their shirts out there; do you think that untucking your shirt would pair well with a mullet and help you play a little bit better?

The Aussie golfer, who normally sports a tucked, collared T-shirt on the course, revealed he was more of a “traditional dresser”.

“I don’t know, I’m more of a traditional dresser, I guess, on the golf course. I’m always having a go at the young guys with their shirts undressed,” he said. “I don’t know, I’m not a big fan of the…. I’m a fan of the shorts, just not the untucked shirt.”

How did Cameron Smith fare in the LIV event in Chicago?

Before the final round on Sunday, the competition was dominated by a two-horse race between Cam Smith and former World No.1 Dustin Johnson. The two displayed excellence on each day – DJ was on top at the end of the first day before Smith rallied to take the lead ahead of a Sunday showdown.

“It was tricky out there today, and I think I got a couple of breaks and D.J. didn’t quite make the putts he usually does,” Smith said.“It’s going to be tight, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

As things stand, the Aussie stands at 10-under par, two shots better than Johnson. The latter must be cursing himself after an uncharacteristic day on Saturday, shooting an over-par 73, his first over-par round in LIV Golf. If he maintains the lead at the top, Cam Smith will secure his first-ever LIV Golf Series win, alongside the hefty prize money of $4 million.
