Over a decade ago, one of the PGA Tour’s stars, Anthony Kim, disappeared from the sport, and hasn’t played since. But of late, within the golf world, rumors of his return are stirring. Many of them involve the Saudi-backed league, LIV Golf, and the most recent hints suggest that golf legend Phil Mickelson is also making a move. But what does the golf community think of that? Let’s find out.
Phil Mickelson switched sides to LIV golf in June last year. Along with a few other PGA Tour stars, he jumped ship and joined the breakaway tour. Since then, LIV and Lefty have constantly been looking to add skilled golfers to their cohort. According to rumors, their most recent target is Anthony Kim.

Of late, a rumor has been afoot about Kim joining LIV golf. The four-time PGA Tour pro is assumed to be considering a return to golf, but on the breakaway tour with Phil Mickelson, who is part of the Hy Flyers team within LIV.
Hearing from multiple sources that Phil is recruiting Anthony Kim to join the Hy Flyers for the 2023 season.
The move would most likely result in the Hy Flyers being the fourth team to be entirely American made (Phil, Kim, Wolff, Tringale).
Would be a MASSIVE addition for LIV. pic.twitter.com/tmTtiMkceH

The 45-time PGA Tour winner is allegedly trying to recruit AK to his team in the Saudi Series. If this rumor is true, it “would be a MASSIVE addition for LIV,” according to Used Golf Facts’ latest tweet. It would also make Lefty’s team the fourth team with all-American members.

Some fans thought it would be “interesting” to see AK play on the tour.
It's interesting. I'll give it that.

Don’t tease this AK fan like that!
— Golf_Realist (@Golf_Realist) January 27, 2023
He would be a super good fit for that league 👍
I really hope you sign some of the GoodGood guys as well for an event or two. Tbh they have bigger followings than most of the other players in the league.— Andy Meldrum (@AndyMeldrumAU) January 27, 2023
There were also fans who refused to believe any of this was true and many LIV golf enthusiasts who thought it was a terrible idea. “Not buying this for one second,” one fan wrote.
If this is Phil’s strategy, I might have to sell my HyFlyers stock…

I'm all-in for LIV, but I'm not sure that would be a smart move for Anthony. Maybe as an analyst or commentator, but not as a player. Sorry, his health is more important.

The PGA Tour loyalists also took the opportunity to diss LIV Golf by bringing up its latest controversy about Patrick Reed.
Anytime you can get a guy who hasn’t played competitive golf in over a decade you gotta jump on it!!! LIV 😂

The only massive addition to LIV is the massive frame of Patrick Reed 😂😂😂

Fans seemed to be unsure of what to feel at the moment. After all, nothing is truly confirmed yet. But what’s your take on it?

Kim turned pro in 2006, and six years later he played his last game on the Tour. Despite only playing for six years professionally, he amassed a huge fan base. Although the vanished golfer has left behind the sport, his fans haven’t forsaken him and often think of him. Many still hope he comes back to the sport.
The four-time PGA Tour winner made his last appearance on the course in 2012 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Soon after, he had major surgery on his Achilles tendon and hasn’t played since. Having suffered multiple injuries in a short period, Kim claimed that he wanted his body to heal before he returned to the game. But it seems like that isn’t done yet.
