TGl, which is the brainchild of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, received a major setback when Jon Rahm, who is one of the top golfers in the world, pulled out of the event a few days ago. As the date of its inaugural tour inches closer, the loss of such an important player must have been a big sting for the new tour.

And now, days after that hindrance another roadblock has hit the league. A drastic incident has happened at the SoFi arena in Florida where TGL is supposed to kick off from early next year.

On Wednesday, a Florida-based TGL venue, the Palm Beach Gardens arena faced deflation due to a power outage at night. It damaged the air-supported dome section of the golfing venue. Fortunately, there was no report of any injuries to people and the technical equipment was also safe. Tiger Woods is proud of hosting this event in his hometown, giving golf pros a taste of it.

In an email statement to Reuters, TGL said, “At this time, while we assess the damage, it is too early to determine the impact on our timelines.” The collapsing of the roof is definitely a cause for concern. It not only presents security questions but also could put a halt on the event, which is ready to kick off from January 9, 2024.
