Greg Norman’s LIV Golf had a pretty successful first season in 2022. And now, the league has already started its second wave and is currently in Australia for the Adelaide event. With numerous other top players on the field, Brooks Koepka, who finished four shots behind Jon Rahm at the Masters, is also getting ready for the tournament. And in his pre-game press conference, the player shared his unfiltered opinions about CEO Norman’s recent statements related to the future of the LIV!

Brooks Koepka dishes on Greg Norman’s recent statements

Koepka, 32, has been in the news ever since his disappointing yet impressive Masters Tournament finish. The golfer almost got his hands on the trophy right before Rahm took over and, well, snatched the title away from him. In fact, he still hasn’t been able to ‘digest’ what happened during the final round. At least, that’s what he said in his recent interview before the upcoming LIV Golf Adelaide event.

But there was something else that was even more interesting to discuss than his views on his Augusta National loss. During his presser, a reporter asked Koepka about his views on Norman’s recent surprising revelation. ‘The shark’ recently made shocking claims about how there is a long list of players waiting to join the league“It’s incredible the amount of players who want to come on board. It would surprise you how good those names are,” he said.

When asked if he could spill some tea by revealing a few of those names, the golfer claimed to have no idea about it. “I don’t know,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to anybody that’s on that level to be like, hey, are you coming over to play? It’s not my style. It’s not usually how I approach anybody.”

However, despite being unaware of anything specifically, Koepka confirmed that there are certainly tons of players wishing to enter the breakaway circuit. “I’m sure there’s a bunch of guys who are still looking to come over,” he mentioned. “Whether that be college players, younger players, to guys that play on the PGA Tour or DP Tour. I’m sure there are people looking to join…The stronger we get, the better we are.”

Does LIV Golf have enough capacity for new players?

In one of his interviews earlier this year, Norman mentioned that the league is incapable to add new players at the moment. However, in his recent statements, the golf legend shared a smart solution to provide a well-deserved opportunity for all new players to join. “There will be a relegation series and places will start opening up,” the Aussie revealed.
