‘He’s got my vote’- Justin Thomas on Tiger Woods being the Michael Jordan of golf

David Ortiz asked Thomas whether Woods is the Michael Jordan of golf, to which he replied in the affirmative. However, he added that this comparison can’t be extended to Wayne Gretzky, the greatest hockey player ever. Nicknamed ‘the great one’, Gretzky has played 20 seasons in the NHL and holds innumerable records in his name.

Thomas said, “Yeah, yeah, I think so. I mean, he’s I mean, he’s the same thing. It’s not quite like a Wayne Gretzky level, but he’s one of those guys where you just look up his stats and you look up some of the stuff that he’s done and you’re like, no one’s ever gonna do this again. “

In addition, He mentioned some of the achievements that make Woods a legend. He says, “No one’s you know, no one’s gonna win nine tournaments, or no one’s gonna win seven plus times and 12 seasons. Just no one’s gonna make 160 straight cuts. Like it just there’s some stuff that is just absolutely out of control that he’s that he’s done. And yeah, I mean, he’s got my vote as being the Michael Jordan of golf.”

As an afterthought, Thomas adds that he would love to challenge Woods’ iconic place somewhere in his future career. He says, “I know I’m quite a bit behind but I’d like to think that myself and I’ll and some other guys have a lot of golf left to try to do something about it.”
