Anna Davis opens up on her win and much more at the ANWA
Davis, the 16-year-old high-school sophomore from San Diego, stunned the entire world with her win at ANWA. Moreover, the young golf prodigy emphatically won the event on Saturday and was the only amateur that finished under-par for the event. She entered the event as 100th in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking. Davis was also the youngest player on the field.

Moreover, after her remarkable win at Augusta, the 2022 ANWA champion took some time to discuss this dream win. She spoke about how she felt about winning the event. Anna said, “I’m still a little shocked. I don’t think it’s processed yet that I’ve won here, but it’s pretty surreal, to be honest. I literally—I’m speechless.”

She even spoke about how her composure helped her to win in a funny manner revealing it as a trait that she did not inherit from her parents. She said, “Yeah, usually I am [composed]. I try to keep my emotions kind of to myself on the golf course. I think showing emotions on the golf course, showing anger, sadness, it kind of makes the other player have an advantage” Moreover, she even gave a fiery reply when asked if composure is the thing she learned from her parents.

Davis replied, “I don’t think either of them, to be honest. They’re not very composed people. I think just from experience and having to be very independent at an early age. I think that’s helped a lot.” Her composure and on top of that the determination to win are truly commendable and able to keep emotions out at such a young age is truly amazing and inspiring.
Davis’ final round heroics and the bucket hat history
Anna won the event with an overall score of three-under-par on Saturday at Augusta. As a result, beating the field with a comfortable three-shot advantage. Moreover, the 16-year-old carded a final round of three-under-par, 69 to triumph at Augusta National. Her final round of 69 showcased two birdies and one bogey on the opening nine holes of the final round. As a result, she moved out in one-under-par, 35. She made two birdies and all pars on a bogey-free back nine to register, probably one of the most famous victories at Augusta National ever.

However, apart from her game the bucket cap that she wore caught the eyes of all the fans. Moreover, she began the tradition back last summer and said, “Every golf course I go to I try to collect them.”
