Luckily, according to sources, the golf star is now fit to appear at the tournament on the first day. Moreover, the 73-year-old is fit enough to hit the honorary tee shot at the Masters. Despite undergoing a serious shoulder replacement surgery in November, Watson has confirmed his presence at the tournament. The two-time Masters winner has been eagerly waiting for this opportunity to take over the tee with his best buds Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player!
It took the former champion a few weeks of rehab to start hitting golf balls again. He even hit a few shots on Wednesday to regain his confidence at the tournament. And it looks like he is all set to do it! In his interview with Golfweek, Watson said, “I’m feeling fine and I will be able to hit the tee shot, not very well, but I’ll be able to hit it,” Describing his current swinging abilities, he added, “They’re going straight but they’re not going far…Of course, when you hit it short you don’t hit it very crooked.” Well, his mere presence is no less than a treat for the fans. And no matter how he hits it, golf enthusiasts are definitely going to cheer for him!

According to what he said about his accident, he could have easily avoided it simply by not sticking his hand out. In an episode of the Beyond the Fairway podcast, Watson detailed how he got into this mess on his own. He explained how he wanted to get go-karts for his grandkids, but at the same time, wanted one for himself too. But he didn’t stop there.
After buying the karts, Watson decided to build his own not-so-little dirt track. The goal was to have fun with his grandkids, but he rather ended up hurting himself after he failed to keep his “arm inside the cage”. “I screwed up my arm up pretty badly and so now I’m in the recuperative stage,” he claimed.
