The Mad Scientist had gone through a lot to win his first major competition. Other than trying out different technologies and techniques, he even changed his physique to improve his game. The golf world was critical of the changes he brought in him in such a short time. However, he proved them wrong by winning the 2020 U. S. Open.
Bryson DeChambeau became a part of history with his U. S. Open victory
With his win at the Winged Foot, DeChambeau became the 12th player to win the U. S. Amateur and the U. S. Open. Furthermore, he became only the third player, after Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, to win U. S. Amateur, U. S. Open, and an individual title at the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.

The 2020 U. S. Open was special in many ways. Like many weather forecasters have predicted, the weather was not in favor of the golfers. Yet, DeChambeau overpowered the Winged Foot field with his long driving skills.
He scored 6-under par to win his first major championship title. Notably, he was the only golfer able to shoot an under-par score at the event in 2020. The runner-up of the event, Matthew Wolff, had scored an even par, whereas Louis Oosthuizen, who won third place, shot an overall 2-over par.

Bryson DeChambeau turned professional in 2016 and won his first major at the U. S. Open. Although he has won another title on the PGA Tour after his major victory at the Winged Foots, none of them are majors.
As a matter of fact, the closest he had a shot a winning another major title in the 2021-2022 season was at the Open Championship held at St. Andrews. He finished T8 in the competition. Furthermore, he couldn’t make the cut at the 2022 Masters Tournament and finished T56 at the PGA Championship.
