The secrets just keep unfolding themselves in the topsy-turvy world of golf. The women’s golf competition is set to take off from August 7 to 10, and fans cannot be more excited. In a recent press conference with the Women’s Olympic Golf Competition, Lilia Vu revealed the unusual bet she made with South African golfer Ashleigh Buhai’s caddie. When asked about the certain bet, Vu said, Yes, I have a bet with—actually, I forgot about it. I have a bet with Ashleigh’s caddie.” So according to this bet, if Buhai finishes better than Vu, then her caddie, Tanya Paterson, will get to choose Vu’s nail color.

“Whoever finishes higher gets to pick the other person’s nail color for whenever the next time we do our nails and Tanya is the opposite of me,”  Vu elaborated. And while it doesn’t sound unusual at all, it’s quite a nightmare for the South African golfer’s caddie. Why, you ask? Well, according to Vu, she likes lighter shades of colors and pastels like pink and blue, while Paterson hates the color pink and is all about exploring the dark palette.

That’s why the American golfer has a mischievous plan to make Paterson throw up! “I’m going to do like a baby pink for her. She’ll probably want to vomit, but it’s okay,”  Vu said hilariously. The bet took place during the Almundi Evian Championship, and Vu described it: “She looked at my hand, and I said, “Do you hate the color pink?” And she said yes. We made a bet that we could pick each other’s color at the  Olympics.” This lighthearted bet will definitely be fun to see when the Olympics for golf are finally over.

Lilia Vu vs. Ashleigh Buhai

It’s not hard to say who has an upper hand at finishing higher at the Paris Olympics. While Buhai may have the experience of competing in the Olympics after her 50th finish at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Lilia Vu is the second-best golfer in the world. With five LPGA victories and two major wins, Vu definitely has an advantage over Buhai at the Olympics.

But you never know; Buhai can show the same skills she did at the 2022 AIG Women’s Open. The golfer performed remarkably and secured the trophy with an awesome score of 10-under-par. With the stats in mind, who do you think will be able to win the 2024 Paris Olympics? Let us know in the comment section below!
