While golf is reaching new heights in terms of viewership, one of its favorite sons remains missing from action. Tiger Woods has been the game’s biggest proponent in the last few decades, but his latest ankle surgery has put his future in doubt. Earlier today, his caddie, Joe LaCava, gave an update about the golf pro. And now his close friend, Justin Thomas, too, has some insight about the legend’s condition.

Despite an age gap of nearly twenty years, Thomas and Woods share a brotherly bond with each other. The pair even pulls each other’s legs for fun whenever they’re on the course together, like with the infamous tampon prank earlier this season, after the legend had made a comeback to the Tour. Given their strong bond, JT too has been making efforts whilst Woods recovers.

Woods’ injury-free time was cut short after his two-day stint at the Masters Tournament. Continuing on his record-breaking spree of making it to the weekend as a professional at Augusta National, the 47-year-old was unable to cope with the harsh weather conditions. Visibly struggling to walk, he eventually decided against playing any further.

In the days that followed, Woods underwent fusion surgery on his ankle to extinguish the pain. The procedure, although relieving for the pro, throws his participation in next month’s PGA championship into considerable doubt.

With fans desperate for more updates about the 82-time PGA Tour winner, the media personnel turned to Thomas this week. The 30-year-old is competing at the Wells Fargo Championship, an event he has yet to win in his career. During his pre-match press conference, JT revealed how he has been helping out amid Woods’ recovery.

The golfer claimed that he was just being there for his friend because it was all he could do. “Yeah, just checking, you know, making sure he’s doing all right. But there’s only so much you can do, it’s pretty much Groundhog Day for him at this point. So just making sure he’s doing alright and saying, hey, whenever I can kind of thing,” he revealed about his conversations with Woods.

It seems like everyone, from his fans, friends, and even his caddie, is anxious about Woods’ current situation. And while JT is doing his part for the legend, LaCava is helping ease the fans’ anxiety with his updates.

Joe LaCava’s crucial update about Woods’ future

Just hours ago, Woods’ caddie, Joe LaCava, gave an update about his boss’ health. While he’s temporarily set to change his entitlements, the seasoned caddie revealed the timeline of the golf legend’s comeback.

“Tiger’s not going to play much going forwards,” he said. “Obviously he’s not retiring. But he’s going to play two to six tournaments a year.”
