The Korda sisters sing high praises of their mother

The Korda sisters’ mother too was an athlete, and the two certainly learned a lot from her growing up. They see her as a godlike figure in their lives. Last week, at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, both Nelly and Jessica sat down for an interview. There, they opened up about their mother and how they’d fall apart without her.

Their heartfelt words were enough to make the viewer think of their own mothers. “I always say that mum is the glue that holds all of us together,” said Jessica when asked how their mother had influenced the girls. “There would be no us without her love, support, her guidance.”

Nelly too chimed in and praised her mom. “She’s like the angel, literally!” she stated. “She’s like our go-to for everything.” The world ranked two in women’s golf also stated that she is always in need of her mother and calls her “three to four times a day.” From advice to help with cooking recipes, the two looked up to her for everything. “Pretty much, my mom is my savior,” said the World no. 2.

They had made it quite clear that they’d crumble without their mother’s help. The LPGA Tour stars certainly admired her a lot, and they claimed that they wouldn’t be the people they were today had it not been for their former tennis star mother. “She’s honestly amazing,” said Nelly. “We call her the angel of the family.”

The onetime major winner even revealed that her mother would root for her when she came to watch the sisters play on the Tour. “Whenever she comes out at tournaments, our dad watches Jess and our mum watches me,” she said, beaming with joy. “They split their time.” Well, that’s undoubtedly an innovative solution by the incredible family of athletes.
