Justin Thomas makes a big move in World Golf Rankings

Justin made a giant leap on the rankings list to get in the top five. He moved from ninth place to fifth position in World Golf Rankings. However, Patrick Cantlay moved down from the fifth to sixth. As for Viktor Hovland, he fell from the sixth spot to the seventh position, and Rory McIlroy fell one place lower to the eighth.

Jordan Spieth, too, fell in the rankings from the eighth position to the ninth. The 2022 Valspar Championship winner, Sam Burns, moved into the top 10 in the world from his previous 11th position. Burns replaced Xander Schauffele, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medal winner moved outside the top 10 and fell to 11th place.

But probably one of the biggest upsets in the Official World Golf Rankings was the fall of Tiger Woods. After his disappointing round of 79 and his withdrawal from the 2022 PGA Championship, he slipped from the 818th position to the 841st position.

The 15-time major championship winner withdrew from the second major championship event of the calendar year due to soreness in his right leg.
