The DP World Tour’s Irish Open has concluded, with the Swedish golfer Vincent Norrman winning the trophy. The event was held in the K Club, Ireland, from September 7th to September 10th. The most astounding fact was that Norrman managed to defeat seasoned players like Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry with aplomb.
Lowry, part of the European Ryder Cup squad, is upbeat despite his finish (third) on his home course. This veteran golfer, who finished tied 79th in the tournament, is no different from Lowry despite sub-standard rounds.

The 2007 Irish Open winner was back on the course to make some great swings. The outing turned out to be a bit disappointing for his fans as he scored a 2-over 288 over four rounds. He is not as disappointed, though.
Harrington said that though this week was not the one he expected, he still enjoyed the competition. He posted his statement on Twitter and wrote: ”It might not of been the week I wanted but what a great Horizon Irish open it was, like the old days. The home support was amazing especially the support for my early morning tee times. @thekclub showed it’s teeth today even in the benign conditions. Just a great championship test.”

Padraig thanks for taking time to sign all the kids hats and memorabilia on the day. The kids with me who all play lots of other sports and activities all came home saying "that was the best sport's event ever". Great memories to hold

One fan shared a moment where someone mistook Harrington for Rory McIlroy, but Harrington didn’t seem to be bothered about it at all.
And we’ll say nothing about the “fan” who greeted you yesterday with “Hi Rory” you took it in such good spirit … and yes what a fab few days of golf thoroughly enjoyable 😊
