The PGA Tour suspended all its players from playing in its events for committing to the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Yet, most of them are playing in the U. S. Open this week, which left many fans confused. However, Paige Spiranac has come to the rescue and explained the process in detail.

The former professional golfer described how the LIV Golf players still can play in all the majors despite being banned from the Tour events. Being a social media influencer, Spiranac shared her wisdom through a video on Twitter.

“I have seen a lot of confusion on why these guys are allowed to play at the U. S. Open,” Spiranac said in the video. Furthermore, she explained that four different organizations run the four majors of golf.

“We have the USGA, who runs the U. S. Open, R and A, who runs the open, Augusta National, the golf Club; The members run the Masters,” she added. She also explained the PGA of America runs the PGA Championship. Although it is confusing, the PGA of America is for teaching professionals, whereas the PGA Tour is an organization for professional players.

“So each organization can make the decision on if they are wanna allow the Tour players, and or not,” she finally added.

The LIV Golf players that will play in the 2022 U. S. Open 

The Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia, the former U. S. Open champion Dustin Johnson, the 6-time major winner Phil Mickelson, and Kevin Na are all part of the Country Club field this week.

The four were part of the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series event. Apart from them, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed are also playing in the third major of the 2021-22 season. Notably, the two joined the league after the first LIV event.

However, according to the statement of the commissioner of the Tour, anyone who has joined and going to join the LIV Series is suspended from the Tour events. 

Paige Spiranac took an indirect dig at Phil Mickelson! 

According to reports, Mickelson joined the LIV Golf for a contract worth $200 million. However, he explained that he chose to play in the league because of its progressive format

Spiranac made fun of him for this. “LIV has some players who deeply care about the progression of the game,” she said sarcastically. “And not because they got s**t ton of money.”
