Paige Spiranac is one of the most well-known social media stars in the world of golf. However, the internet sensation quit her career as a golfer after failing to qualify for the LPGA Tour. And today, Spiranac has tons of fans for her presence on various social media platforms. She usually talks to her fans through her podcast. And she recently talked about the time when people called one of her friends the “Female Tiger Woods”.

Paige Spiranac opened up about the Female Tiger Woods phenomena

Tiger Woods has been an inspiration to nearly all young golfers. And people still look up to the golfer as their idol. Similarly, many of Paige Spiranac’s friends used to follow Woods’ ways of playing golf and wanted to be like him.

Spiranac mentioned that she used to hear people comparing LPGA golfer, Kimberly Kim, with Tiger Woods during their school days. She said, “Everyone thought she was going to be the next, you know, female Tiger Woods.” it was about the fact that many of her friends who wanted to be amazing golfers in the future, left their golf dreams and went to college.

She also gave examples of players like Lexi Thompson and Jamie Green who skipped college to join professional golf. And on the other hand, Spiranac chose the traditional route and went to college. She said that even though she wanted to join professional golf after high school, instead, she chose to get a college degree.

 “I wanted to turn professional right out of high school. Like that was my goal,” she said. However, things have worked out pretty well for her this far and she is doing an amazing job at being a social media star.

Will Spiranac return to professional golf?

According to her interview on another podcast, Spiranac has no plans to come back to professional golf. The former golfer thinks that she is not competitive enough to be on the field among such amazing female players. Spiranac said that she wanted to be number 1 at whatever she did in her life. And currently, she is at the top when it comes to being a social media influencer. Moreover, she wishes to work harder in the same field and grow even higher in the future.
