Paige Spiranac wanted Phil Mickelson to retire

Phil Mickelson is known as the ‘prankster’ of the golf world. Mickelson’s sense of humor is well-known by all his fans across the world. However, one of the people who love the golfer’s speaking skills is Paige Spiranac. She was once so fond of hearing Mickelson that she expressed her wish of having him in the commentary box.

In one of her tweets in 2021, Spiranac wrote, “Haha I love Phil! I selfishly wanted him to retire so we could see him in the booth because he has the best commentary in the game!” She might be right about Mickelson’s potential for being a golf broadcaster. But it doesn’t seem like Mickelson is anywhere near to retiring from the sport. Instead, he sees a lot more years for himself in the game and is currently a representative of the Saudi-backed league.

Although his decision to join LIV Golf cost him many fans, there is still love for Mickelson among his followers. And after many other players have joined the new league, it seems like people are finally beginning to accept LIV Golf and its players. And even Spiranac extended her support towards Mickelson-led LIV’s recent announcement for allowing players to wear shorts at tournaments.

According to a tweet by Paige Spiranac, LIV Golf legend Phil Mickelson has blocked her on Twitter. It was after Alan Shipnuck tweeted about Mickelson’s “false” claims and said that there was nothing to be said off the record.

Trying to find out more on this, Spiranac commented, “What did he say? I’m blocked”. Her fans were shocked to find out about the situation even though Spiranac had been a fan of Mickelson. However, it could be a reaction to Spiranac’s early statements about the LIV Golf league. But Mickelson has not given any reasons behind blocking the golf beauty!
