Paige Spiranac reveals she was a gymnast

Though Spiranac has spoken about her past as a gymnast, her current fans might not be aware of the backstory. Before Spiranac took up golf, she was looking to become a gymnast. Although the plan didn’t work out, she remains proud of herself.

“I’m an open book, so I feel like my followers know pretty much everything about me, whether they like it or not. But I would say that I was only a gymnast. That’s pretty much the highest level you can get to. I ended up having to quit because I fractured my kneecap twice and had a couple other really bad injuries. But I think that’s something that’s kind of cool.”

Paige Spiranac’s golf career

Born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Spiranac’s dream was cut short even though she was talented. She earned a golf scholarship at the University of Arizona and then transferred to the San Diego State University, where she took the Aztecs to a title.

Spiranac even played at CoBank Colorado Women’s Open and Stallion Mountain. In that year, 2016, she won her only professional title, i.e. at the Orange Tree Country Club on the Cactus Tour. Later, she attempted to qualify to the LPGA, but missed the cut. Eventually, as mentioned, Spiranac retired in 2016 to focus on her online presence.
