Spiranac is known to raise her voice on issues that hold relevance, especially when it comes to women-related issues. Be it discrimination or internal misogyny, Paige never fails to promote a positive message with her followers.

Misogyny is an umbrella term for hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against women. A subset that falls within misogyny is that of internalized misogyny. In general terms, it means the form of sexist behaviors and attitudes enacted by women toward themselves or other women and girls.

It is important for women to support one another in order to overcome the horrors of internalized misogyny. The same was demonstrated by Tennis players Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka during the US Open Tennis held in 2019. Osaka helped 15-year-old Cori Gauff process her disappointment after she lost their third-round match. It was highly celebrated amongst women in sports as an act of sisterhood and support.

Paige was quick to react to this. She said, “This matters so much! I love seeing women supporting each other. Not enough of that. I still remember the few girls who helped me when I needed it the most and left such a lasting impression. Hating others isn’t cool. I couldn’t love this more.”

As a matter of fact, it is crucial for women to stand up and extend a helping hand to fellow women. Especially, women in sports are at more of need to support one another considering the inequality faced by Women’s leagues worldwide. The camaraderie demonstrated by Osaka towards Gauff was a pleasant sight and probably an onset to kinder and more empathetic relations.

Spiranac once criticized DeChambeau for his reaction

DeChambeau was once found in violation of rules while playing at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio. And while the rules officials declared that he was in violation, DeChambeau did not accept it all too well. He was persistent in asking for a second call.

This did not sit well with Paige Spiranac, and, as always, she was vocal about the issue.

Talking about the incident, Spiranac had said, “I used to be a big Bryson fan. But in the last few weeks, it’s been really hard to be a Bryson fan. He’s crossed that line from being different to being a d**k. The way he acted to that rules official was so uncalled for. He thinks that he is literally pioneering the way that golf is being played, and he is so far and beyond everyone else that he can tell a rules official, whose job is to know the rules inside and out … ‘I don’t believe you, I need a second ruling’.”

The social media sensation did not shy away from calling out DeChambeau for his treatment of the rules official. She made sure to make her stance on the issue clear. This is probably why fans love Spiranac so much…for her fearless and strong attitude.
