Paige Spiranac clears the air on a fake rumor involving Rickie Fowler

The first round of the 2023 US Open saw Rickie Fowler make tournament history with his eight-under 62, resulting in the 34-year-old becoming a top contender for the title. But it was golf influencer Paige Spiranac who got entangled amidst the ensuing chaos.

No sooner had Fowler’s resurgence happened than a fake Spiranac tweet that said, “I’ll do a b**b reveal when Rickie Fowler wins a major,” started doing the rounds on the internet. Later, the 30-year-old beauty explained the situation, saying that a meme account had started the rumors. “This is not true, so don’t get your hopes up,” she wrote in a tweet.

Now, days later, Spiranac has addressed the situation in an episode of her podcast. “I checked my DMs, hundreds, hundreds of them, hundreds of them [messages],” said Spiranac about the aftermath of the falsified tweet. “It was outrageous. I’ve never seen something like that. And even after I came out and said it was fake, people were still DMing about it!
