After a 2024 season where Scottie Scheffler saw it all, he is now headed to Paris! He will represent USA men’s golf at the 2024 Olympics with Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa. “Playing for your country is always extremely exciting and it will be pretty surreal doing it on the Olympic stage,” he said. His last appearance was at the Royal Troon, teeing off for the final major on the men’s circuit.

At the Open Championship, Scheffler secured a T7 finish, eight strokes behind Xander Schauffele, who won his second Major. Scheffler withdrew from the 3M Open to prepare for the Olympics, which has been his lifelong dream. Although he has reportedly arrived in Paris, he was nowhere to be seen at the opening ceremony on July 26. So where is he?

Scottie Scheffler will be staying 2 hours away from the venue with family

Scottie Scheffler does not want to risk his game after taking up his national duties. To be in the best form, he decided against staying at the Olympic Village and opted for a resort with Meredith Scheffler and baby Bennett two hours away from Paris. His whereabouts were revealed by former Chelsea player John Terry, who posted a picture of them posing in the Les Bordes area, which has two golf courses. Scheffler will be playing for the first time at the Le Golf National, and that is all the more reason for him to keep himself away from the crowd.

His only solace at the moment is the family time he will get to spend and, of course, his golf practices in the city of love. This is why, despite families being allowed to stay with the players at the Olympic Village, the Schefflers will not be opting for it.

Before diving into another golf venture, Scottie Scheffler ensured that they enjoyed the fun of Paris. He visited the Louvre with Bennett in the pram, and Meredith right next to him. Posting a couple of pictures of the happy family, Scheffler wittily wrote, “Made it to Paris & Bennett loved the Louvre 😂 #parisolympics.”

Although the No. 1 golfer in the world started with a great start during the inception of the season, he has not been having quite a great run since his arrest at the PGA Championship. The trip to Paris might indeed be a nice break for him, and who knows Scheffler might bounce back to his contention period at the Olympics.

A recap of Scottie Scheffler’s 2024 journey so far

Scottie Scheffler started the 2024 season with only Top-10 finishes in the first two months, except for the American Express (T17). His contention began in March at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he went on to bag two back-to-back wins. After finishing T2 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, he won the first major of the season followed by another win at the RBC Heritage.

However, the 28 YO had to take a break after that to fend for his newborn baby. When he came back, the incident at the PGA Championship disturbed him so badly that he dropped down to a T8. However, he geared up and achieved a T2 and a win in the next two events. But his performance went drastically downhill at the third major, marking his worst finish of the season (T41).

The last two events seemed to work out pretty well for him, with a win at the Travelers Championship and a T7 at the Open. With such varied performances this season, what will be his fate in Paris? Stay tuned to find out!
