And it was not only McIlroy who felt that way about the LIV Golf players. Even Billy Horschel supported his comments about the golfers from the rival league. However, Reed doesn’t agree with what McIlroy said about him and his fellow LIV golfers. In response to his statements, Reed said“I feel like [Rory] making those types of comments is insulting. Let’s be honest, I’ve [played the DP World Tour] more consistently than some of the Europeans on the PGA Tour, so for them to take shots at other guys, especially Billy and Rory taking shots at the LIV guys saying they shouldn’t be here.”

He also claimed that he had played equally as much as McIlroy in the past five years on the tour.

Fans react to Reed’s comments on McIlroy

While talking about his experience of playing at the tournament, Reed said that he didn’t feel unwelcomed on the tour. He was pretty confident about his contribution to the tour and said that he came forward even at times of COVID to support the tour. However, towards the end, he said that the players calling him out for playing on two tours are nothing but hypocritical.

Fans were not happy with what Reed had to say about the PGA Tour loyalist. Many of them tried to remind Reed of his alleged “cheating” days.

While others simply said that it was not the media who painted his image in a certain way. Rather, it was his fans who made their decision!

According to Reed, McIlroy playing on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour are similar to LIV Golf players coming back to the PGA Tour. There has been no official response from Rory McIlroy about the matter yet. But there is a possibility that this might just become another huge controversy in the golf world.
