Paulina Gretzky opens up about not wanting to date athletes

The NHL star’s daughter made an appearance on the ‘Pillows and Beer’ lifestyle podcast with Craig Connor and Austen Kroll. Amongst other things, she revealed her reasons for avoiding relationships with athletes. She said, “How I looked at it was like, I don’t ever want to date somebody that’s an athlete because, whether or not it was me or not, I felt like it was like an achievement for them.”

“Being with me, dating me, whatever it was, it just didn’t feel authentic. I truly stayed away from athletes, I really did. Dustin was the first person, I won’t talk about the other one before… I didn’t like that, really,” Gretzky said.

How Dustin Johnson and Paulina met

In an earlier interview, she has revealed how the duo met. Her mother had met world number 3 and invited him to their house. Paulina showed up looking like a ‘complete ragamuffin’ while Johnson was looking ‘really cute’. “I didn’t stay long, but he was such a gentleman, so endearing. He’s always been that way to me. We exchanged numbers, and here we are.”

And look at how far the couple has come. More than a decade of knowing each other, they have finally decided to tie the knot. They also have two adorable children together, Tatum, 6, and River, who is 4.
