A hero’s journey tainted: Brooks Koepka find his triumph overshadowed
Brooks Koepka dazzled the crowd at Oak Hill with an extraordinary one-shot lead going into the final round of the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill. His impressive four-under-par 66 in challenging conditions cemented him at six-under on Sunday. However, the DP World Tour recently tainted his remarkable feat. How? With their negligent social media blunder, which the Tour has since rectified!
Just hours ago, the DP World Tour ignored Koepka’s incredible performance at the major and took to Twitter, focusing on the man who was close behind the 4-time major winner, Viktor Hovland. The European Tour wrote, “Chasing his first Major, Viktor Hovland will play in the final group on Sunday, just one shot off the lead.”

Surprisingly, Koepka found no mention in the tweet! Despite his lead at the PGA Championship, and his extensive participation in DP World Tour events, he was overlooked. This oversight becomes an embarrassing footnote for Koepka, although it was later corrected with the Tour deleting its tweet!
Battle for glory: Intense competition as the final round looms
The competition intensifies as the final round approaches. Hovland and Corey Conners exhibit their resolve, carding even-par rounds to stay in close proximity to the lead. Bryson DeChambeau (-3) and Justin Rose (-2) also join them, forming a formidable chasing pack.

Scottie Scheffler, the word No. 2 also remains a strong contender for the title, despite a turbulent day that dropped him back to two-under! Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy trails Koepka by five strokes after a commendable one-under-par 69, positioning him as a contender for his third US PGA Championship.
While the DP World Tour’s social media blunder momentarily distracts viewers, Koepka’s commanding presence on the leaderboard demands attention. With his sights set on a third US PGA Championship title, Koepka aims to solidify his golfing legacy.
