‘Stop Being a B*tch’: Golf World Shows No Mercy to Rory McIlroy Despite Concerning Confession

Rory McIlroy has been plagued by inconsistencies of late! And while many hoped that this would change at the PGA Championship in New York this week, the golfer once again started off slow during the first round on Thursday. In the press conference after the first day, he cited one big reason for his disappointing performance.

But to fans, it seemed that he was trying to come up with excuses for the slow start. And frustrated with his constant erratic performance, they took to publicly bashing him with their words!

Rory McIlroy justifies his poor start at the major

McIlroy’s start at Oak Hills was a little less than ideal. He kicked off the initial round with par on the first two holes, followed by back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes. But things headed downhill from there for the golf pro. Ending the round one over par at 71, he recorded four bogeys offset by only three birdies. 

In his press conference after the first round of the tournament was concluded, the golfer looked pale and tired. In the conference, he opened up about not sleeping well and the impact that had clearly had on his game!

“I thought I got a great night’s last night’s sleep last night, and I look at my Whoop, and I was 22% recovery, and my skin temperature was 3.5 degrees higher than what it’s been. I’m fighting something.” 

 

 

With his poor start once more, he disappointed his fans, and although he had a strong justification that his body wasn’t at 100%, fans wanted to hear none of it! Taking to Golf.com‘s post of the golfer’s plight, they flooded Twitter with strong words for the golf pro.

Fans react to McIlroy’s disheartening news 

Fans had lots to say about the health update that the former world no. 1 shared with the press. To them, it seemed like an excuse once more, and it only added to their frustrations.

A few fans called out McIlroy for using excuses during the major tournaments to cover up his poor performances.

Another loyal fan, on the other hand, wished the golfer well, hoping for his speedy recovery.

A few other fans suggested that McIlroy remove his Whoop in order to relax better.

Another fan took a jab at him and hinted that LIV Golf could be the right move for him.

One fan even called out the golfer and asked him to stop being a “b*tch.”
