“We have a little surprise coming out in April,” said the current No.1 golfer on the OWGR last month. Despite being dubbed unemotional more often than not, Scottie Scheffler had expressed his anticipation of welcoming a new member into the family back in March when promoting his new Nike shoes. Anyhow, that means the pro will be without his wife, Meredith Scheffler, by his side at the ongoing Masters Tournament.

A non-Meredith major for Scottie Scheffler
Divulging his thoughts on the ongoing major, he said, “This is my first tournament without (Meredith) being around in quite some time.” However, he didn’t stop there, as Scheffler went ahead to add, “I did make breakfast this morning, which was an adjustment,” while subtly confessing how his wife makes the food at home.

Anyhow, Scheffler seemed to have been on cloud nine recently, all thanks to the baby who is set to be born this month. “It’s going to be pretty wild,” the golfer had revealed during one of his interviews with SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio before adding, “I don’t think it’s hit either of us quite yet, maybe sometime when the baby is moving around in her stomach a bunch, but it’s an exciting time for us as a family”¦”

Well, regardless of her absence due to the pregnancy, the professional has stood out at the Augusta National. Interestingly, Scheffler is tied for the top spot with a score of overall 6-under with figures of 66-72 on the par-72 Augusta National with two other athletes, including the likes of Bryson Dechambeau and Max Homa. But, even the amazing performance wasn’t enough to spare him from the hands of the netizens, who took to the tweet to dish out comments that were truly hilarious.

Fans turn Scheffler into ‘Cheffler’
A lot of professionals in the golfing world have their own nicknames. Phil Mickelson is known as ‘Lefty’ while Bryson DeChambeau is referred to as the ‘Scientist’. That’s not all. Rory McIlroy, the No. 2 on the OWGR, is sometimes called ‘Rors’ by many in the community, while the legend Jack Nicklaus is dubbed ‘The Golden Bear’. Similarly, many on the internet couldn’t help but use Scottie Scheffler’s name along with the idea of him making breakfast to troll him. Consequently, some fans went ahead to respond with comments like “CHEF-FLER”, “Cheffler was right there,” and “Coulda just said Cheffler.” It seems like it might stick to the 27-year-old.

Golf is truly a traditional sport. What about the Masters Tournament? Well, it is even more so. From the golfers and patrons being required to follow a certain dressing style to the various conventions seen ahead of the start of the event, such as the par-3 contest, the Drive Chip and Putt event, and the Champions Dinner, among others, the major championship sure does boast a lot of traditions. However, for the community, Scheffler seems no different as well, with many going ahead to react similarly under the post. As a result, they decided to mock him for being a traditional man, as the followers commented, “He misses his trad wife” along with other responses including, “Cereal is not making breakfast Scottie haha sorry,” and “Opening a box of Pop Tarts ain’t makin breakfast.” However, a certain user went ahead to sarcastically comment, “Let him cook,” all the while making fun of the professional.

Nevertheless, despite such an uproar on the internet, his focus will surely be on the title for the coming two days. Moreover, along with the birth of his baby, Scheffler would be hoping to rake in a second victory at Augusta National to make the month even sweeter.
