A love story. What else can we call the relationship between golf and the President of the United States of America? Well, the fondness Donald Trump has for the sport is well known, as can be seen from the number of courses that he boasts all over the U.S. and some more. But, it seems, this time around, it’s not the 77-year-old who turned heads, but Barack Obama.

Although the golf world is currently focusing on the Sony Open, they couldn’t help but turn their eyes to the familiar political figure who was close by. Moreover, the ex-POTUS managed to steal attention away from the Hawaiian tournament, all the while engaging in a small game of golf!

The 44th President of the U.S. was spotted playing golf with a group of his friends on the island of Oahu, the same island where the PGA Tour event is taking place. Moreover, he was noticed enjoying the game at the Kapolei Golf Club while donning “a teal shirt, gray shorts, personalized gloves, sneakers, and a white cap.”

The 62-year-old is well known for his love for the game of golf. Over the eight years he served as POTUS, the politician played a total of 333 rounds, averaging once every 8.8 days. However, such a number stands out as opposed to Trump, who played around 260 rounds. But there’s a twist: the latter’s number comes in a span of four years as opposed to the former’s.

It seems that the 45th President of the country loves to indulge in the same a bit more than his predecessor. Well, his love for the game is very much evident, courtesy of the courses he owns. From Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, to Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, which recently saw a lot of controversy, many of his venues have stood host to various professional tournaments, including LIV Golf in 2023.

Nevertheless, the upcoming season saw a surprising development as Trump’s venues failed to list themselves on the courses that the 2024 LIV Golf events would be playing in. But the worry seemed for naught as a piece of relieving news came soon after.

However, this time around, the Greens would not be hosting the finale but the fifth competition on the PIF-funded circuit in April, from the 5th to the 7th. But even so, the course would be hosting a tournament on the alternate tour for the third straight season. Although only one of his grounds made the list of greens, many in the community would be looking forward to the tournament that would happen in the place where the 2023 finale took place!
