The LIV Golf vs PGA Tour war has reached its pinnacle. Moreover, the PGA Tour has decided to suspend all the golfers joining the LIV Golf Invitational Series. However, the LIV Golf is trying its best to rope in players from the tour, and so far, they have managed to get Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, and Kevin Na, to name a few.

Meanwhile, the PGA Tour is going through a tough time. And in the recent statement released, they asked for support from fans and players. However, during these delicate times, the Tour seems to have made itself vulnerable. A golf Twitter account, Links Nation, posted screenshots of chats from a mini-tour player this morning.
The chats read that the tour emailed out the Korn Ferry registration. The tour has increased the Q school fees by 30%. Moreover, it has gone from $5300 to $6500. Additionally, the player wrote, “They are a horrible organization, dude. Going after the income of guys that are all broke. Especially during a week where the LIV is threatening their future.”

Moreover, these things getting into the public domain, especially during these sensitive times, is an enormous concern for Jay Monahan. This is making the young golfers easy to poach, which is harmful to the PGA Tour in the future.
The PGA Tour has under-funded the developmental tours
The criticism that PGA Tour has been receiving is that they haven’t been able to fund the developmental circuits. Moreover, even on the PGA Tour, apart from the top players, most golfers struggle to keep up with the expenses unless they finish higher on the leaderboard. The caddies also do not receive any attention from their side throughout the year.
Hence, this is where LIV Golf is trying to capitalize by offering guaranteed pay for every golfer. Therefore, prominent golf reporter Alan Shipnuck quoted the tweet, “This is an undeniable part of this story: the Tour made itself vulnerable to competition because its product is stale and the TV/streaming/social media presentation mostly awful. And the Tour has badly underfunded the developmental circuits, making the young players easy to poach.”

I think we’re now realising what I bet the Tour has known for a long time, the fact that they don’t control the majors leaves them extremely vulnerable. It’s why they push so hard for the Players / FedEx to be part of the convo but I think it will come out that nobody cares.

The LIV golf product and production quality is way way worse than what the PGA tour puts together. It feels like the XFL

and if you think that's bad, which it is, do the economics on the LPGA and the Epson Tour. Saudis could bust the LPGA, The LET and the Epson Tour in one swoop. I'm guessing only 1 player on the Epson Tour broke even last year. Lilia Vu.

I always thought the cost of Q School was high so that only players that seriously thought they can make it would attempt.

This is unacceptable from the @PGATOUR. These young guys are struggling just to make a living and the PGA is now adding $1500 more for Q school. What’s next?

@PGATOUR Are you all just stupid? Trying to shed more players? https://t.co/RVLjYZx6Fs
