Ryder Cup is just a couple of days away. Team USA will look to end the 30-year losing streak on foreign soil, while Europe is vying to win the trophy back after losing to America at Whistling Straits in the last edition. Max Homa is one of the most laid-back and funny professionals on the PGA Tour. He is loved by fans as well as his fellow teammates.

As the golf world’s favorite gears up for the patriotic showdown at Marco Simone, Homa’s friends have decided to be by his side when he is off the blocks on Friday. And they have taken quite a lot of trouble to be with him.

Max Homa is going to have massive support

The 32-year-old American patriot has notched up 8 professional wins in his career till now and stands at no.7 in the World Ranking. The PGA tour pro won two events this season and is in Rome for the patriotic showdown.

He has always been in the news for his golf, but more so for his gratitude toward his fans. And the funny yet sarcastic tweets he sometimes drops on social media. As the Americans gear to support Team USA, Homa’s friends also take the flight to cheer for him. Leah Aldridge revealed that her fiancée, and Homa’s friend, is a “nervous wreck” when it comes to flying.

The Arizonian golfer reposted a story on his Instagram where Aldridge updated a picture of herself with her partner on a flight. He can be seen sitting with a neck-support pillow and an eye mask. The story reads, When your fiancée doesn’t know how to fly, #nervouswreck. LFG @max.homa #USA.” 

Max Homa is testing the mettle of his game on the greens of Italy already, leaving no stone unturned in practice sessions.

Now that his friends are flying in to support him, Max Homa must be elated and energetic ahead of the showdown. Especially when he’ll have friends both on the course and in the stands. A funny tweet can be easily confused with a jibe and vice-versa. Sometimes, fans don’t seem to understand what Max Homa is trying to say. His recent tweet was about fist pumps, and fans think he was talking about his Ryder Cup teammate and long-time friend, Jordan Spieth.

Homa posted about being uncomfortable with this habit in golfers. He finds right-handed golfers fist pumping from left hand awkward. One would think why Homa would raise such an insignificant issue in the lead-up to a very important event. But that’s how he is; he has shown time and again.
