Some of the exceptional PGA Tour golfers are in Illinois at Olympia Field Country Club to compete in the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs, the BMW Championship. The contenders are practicing hard to brush up their game and stay at the top of the FedEx Cup standings to make their way to the final playoff: the Tour Championship. Apart from being astonishing golfers, pros such as Rory McIlroy are loving family men as well.

Having your family support you during your tough times is indeed a blessing, and McIlroy is blessed with the same. The Irish golfer shared a very pleasant moment with his wife, and daughter on the course, that left the fans in sheer awe. 

Rory McIlroy shares a blissful family moment on the greens

McIlroy and Erica Stoll met for the first time in 2012 during the Ryder Cup, and 5 years later they got married to each other in a beautiful ceremony. The couple’s wedding in Ireland was as grand as it could get. 3 years after their wedding, the couple welcomed their little bundle of joy, Poppy on August 30, 2020.

Ever since their marriage, Stoll has supported her husband through all the ups and downs of his career. Poppy and Erica have made quite a few appearances in McIlroy’s tournaments, every now and then to support him. But this time, McIlroy’s daughter and wife are not present physically at the $20 million event in Olympia Fields, but they are supporting him from a distance.

According to the video posted by PGA Tour on Instagram, during the practice round on August 16th, the 4X major champion received a FaceTime call from his wife. He dropped his clubs to take the call, and to his surprise, his little daughter was on the call too. As soon as he picked up the call and said hello, Poppy had a very important question to ask. She asked his father who he was with, and he laughingly replied, “I am with Harry on the golf course.”

Harry and Poppy exchanged greetings with each other. The Northern Irishman lovingly asked her daughter how her school was that day, as other members from his team continued to say ‘Hi’ to the little munchkin. As the golfer walked off from the hole, he continued speaking to his daughter on the call.

The cute interaction between the father and his daughter garnered a lot of attention and a plethora of loving reactions from people all around.
